fitzwilliamd
Would it be hard to put a multiplier on enemy VPs? I think it might be fun to triple their VP amounts without changing any other stats to increase the length of battles. I enjoy lightsaber battles, but after a certain point a few deft swipes and the enemies get smacked down. Is it complicated to use the editor to make that kind of change? Maybe have enemies VP *2 at level 5 *3 at level 6 *4 at level 8 and maybe cap at *5? (similar to what is done in the Hardcore mod, I imagine). I am just learning so let me know if this is a complicated process. Thank you ! NOTE: The hardcore mod is excellent but I would like to increase VP and not other stats. It makes it hard for my Guardians to land force powers, etc.
chay80
If you have downloaded the superb KOTOR tools and BioWare's GFF editor, you may be able to use it to increase VPs on as many of your opponents as you have patience for. But to my knowledge, outside of needing to decompile/compiling of .ncs/nss files (like Talchia's great Hardcore mod), you have to do them one NPC at a time. If you would like to buff up certain *epic* encounters (the ones that are usually preceeded by a cutscene), you need to know what location the encounter occurs. For instance, the first dark jedi you face ingame, I believe, is the governor in the Sith base on Taris. That particular location is tar_m09ab. In KOTOR tool, there are two references to each location; xxx_xxxx.rim and xxx_xxxx_s.rim. Ignore the first, it's there to tell the game how the area looks and sounds, I believe. Under the ...._s.rim, it lists all of the various triggers, NPCs and stuff you interact with in that area. For the NPCs we are looking for a .utc file. Extract it and open it up with GFF editor. In this case it is tar09_darkjedi001.utc (I hope, hehe). You will see here all the stats/equipment/class/level/feats and all that stuff here. After having said all of that, it's likely much easier to use Talch's Hardcore mod, but be forewarned...said mod can be extremely tough, especially the *gauntlet* stage of the Star Forge and areas where you have lots of opponents at once. I hope I didn't confuse or mislead you
fitzwilliamd
Thank you so much, chay80, for the details. I had no idea what was required! What a nightmare I think I will do as you suggest and install the Hardcore Mod again. Thanks!
