conditional "dead check" script

Hi,

 

I altered several of the dialogue lines for the unknown beach evilpc showndown, and made carth attackable.

 

I want to make it so that a certain branch of dialogue is not initiated until after carth has been sliced to bits.

this would more than likely be a conditional script that checks to see if he(carth) is dead.

 

any help is appreciated.
