Suchan271
Here's an intro on basic texture preparation that covers histogram stretch and sharpening. It's based on standard procedures that we use at work and geared a little more for the KOTOR users. Good info for all, hope it helps some people out. Suchan271
Hi. Just a quick question. These tutorials will take a bit of time to produce once I start getting into the more advanced stuff, so I was wondering if it's even worthwhile. Will anyone get use out of these PS tutorials? Noctambulist
The link didn't work for me, and I do have Acrobat. I'm sure it would be useful information, but don't do anything you don't want to do or don't feel like doing. We all do this stuff for fun, if it feels like work to you and not fun, then it's probably not worth it. tk102
Suchan271 -- I *just* got a copy of Photoshop myself, and although I wasn't planning on using it for KOTOR purposes, I found your first tutorial very helpful. Photoshop is a sophisticated and powerful editing tool. I've only worked with PaintShop Pro and I was a little overwhelmed by all the options in Photoshop. In short, your expertise in this area will likely help many people both now and in the future (seeing how KOTOR2 isn't too far off). I hope that you'll be able to continue to contribute tutorials as your time allows. I know that I'll read everyone of them.
Suchan271
Oh, I don't mind making these at all. It helps the community and has the bonus of keeping all these processes fresh in my mind. I've RAR'ed the pdfs so they shouldn't pose a problem now. If people find them useful, I'll continue.

Suchan271
Thanks. I'll probably be posting one a weekend. I figured that it would be prudent to start with something easy and then advance into alpha channels, masking and probably color manipulation. Suchan271
PSD is the native format for photoshop. There are a few ways around it, for us the best is "save a copy".

theBlind
One word: Wow. Well, i got my own little texture project going on, but since I´m still new to this and don´t know nothing of the tricks, I was interested in your tuturial. To say it frankly: 2mins of reading and 30 seconds of applicating the histogram functions did the texture about as much good as the 8 hours of work before had... Why doesn´t anyone tell you that there´s such nice tools out there? Thanks and I´ll definatly look for the next installment. -theBlind
Suchan271
wicked! Thanks guys, I'm really glad you're getting something out of these tutorials! JedI_XtRmIsT - I can do both, the file is "N_Mandalorian01.tga" for the blue assault armour. I did a quick Assault armour up in Urban Heavy which looks pretty good so I could fire up one in a purple variant no prob if you like. Suchan271
That is weird. I was posted with 1RCR in Petawawa before being posted to Ottawa just under 3 years ago. There are only two other Suchans in the canadian military that I am aware of. One being a female officer and the other posted with the RCD's in Petawawa. As far as I know he's still there. I'll check the phone list for you monday.
