maaes
hi, it's me again.. this time it's about multiclassing. i've been searching through the 2da files using kotor tool to find information on how level-ups are handled, but cant seem to find any helpful info there. my problem is this when i first completed KOTOR i was a level 8 soldier by the time i left taris - thus leaving only 12 levels for the jedi class. what i would like is that regardless of previous level and class you could still level your current class to level 20 - meaning in effect that you could get to become a level 20 scout level 20 jedi guardian, if you should so choose. i realize this would result in an overpowered character, but i would still like to include this in a mod. an alternative idea would be to let both classes gain exp and level up to level 20 and just let the highest level class determine the overall level of your character, so you could have a level 12 char who is a level 12 jedi and level 8 scout for instance. from what i could tell from looking through the 2da files, it is not very complicated to even expand the game with more levels above level 20, although it would require some extensive 2da editing but i have no clue if it would be even possible to adjust the way level ups are handled in regards to what class is leveled or if that is entirely hardcoded - any info would be greatly appreciated and i apologize for the spam of questions coming from my end. Amf12345
You can use the Save Game Editor to change your class, as a temporary solution.
tk102
what i would like is that regardless of previous level and class you could still level your current class to level 20 - meaning in effect that you could get to become a level 20 scout level 20 jedi guardian, if you should so choose. Lil' Jawa made a mod called Raven Incarnate that allowed you to become a Jedi from the very beginning of the game (well as soon as you open the first door). If I remember correctly, you are still a multiclassed character though your initial class is only level 1. There is no mod currently that prevents you from multiclassing to a Jedi class when you reach Dantooine. There are probably a couple global variable that would need to be fooled, and maybe some dialog scripts. an alternative idea would be to let both classes gain exp and level up to level 20 and just let the highest level class determine the overall level of your character, so you could have a level 12 char who is a level 12 jedi and level 8 scout for instance. No, that's not how the game engine handles levels. Your level is the sum of your class levels. from what i could tell from looking through the 2da files, it is not very complicated to even expand the game with more levels above level 20,It would appear that way wouldn't it? And yet there is no level cap removal mod.... The truth is many people have looked at this already and everyone concedes that the game simply will not recognize classes above 20.it would be even possible to adjust the way level ups are handled in regards to what class is leveled Your latest class is the class that levels up. Play with KSE if you really want a non-Jedi or a full-Jedi.
