Anyone else experiencing these problems? [PC]

I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, but it was obviously rushed out before it was finished to match the release date of the DVDs because there are MAJOR bugs.

 

First off, I saw some pictures online showing the menus. Apparently the background is supposed to be a glowing blue kind of 3D mesh sort of thing, but it doesn't show up on mine. I just get the menus themselves on a plain black background.

 

Second, the Sabotage bonus in Galactic Conquest mode does not always work. I selected that bonus as the Empire attacking Naboo Plains and I heard the "we've sabotaged the enemy's vehicles" line at the beginning of the battle, but the enemy landspeeders had full health. The same thing happened on Hoth, but on Rhen Var it worked like it's supposed to. And I know it's not because the enemy's pilots repaired them, because if that's the case why do they repair the sabotaged vehicles on some maps and not others? There wasn't really enough time for them to repair them to full health before I encountered them anyway.

 

Third, and most vexingly, sometimes when I'm in a battle the game will freeze for a few seconds at a time every 20-30 seconds or so.

 

This is all in single player, I haven't tried out multiplayer yet.

 

My computer exceeds the minimum system requirements, has all major name brand parts, and I have the latest DirectX and drivers installed in a virus-free WinXP environment.

Try to reinstall it. If that dont work it could be your drivers for your graphics card.

As for the backround... i installed the new nvidia drivers and i can now see the backround... hope that helps
