If the door's going up, it'll have to go through "the roof" unless you've made a doorframe or something like that. To prevent it z-fighting, yeah, my apologies, you'll need to have a minue value... ONLY that's going to look odd if your door appears to go through a solid ceiling. Hence it's better to have a small POSITIVE lip value. in my humble opinion...
