Target lock in multiplayer?

Yo, I tried to do a search on this topic, but came up with nadda. Forgive me if this has already been brought up a thousand times, but I was wondering about trying to get target lock working in multiplayer. It seems to be the one and only camera option that just does not seem to work in multiplayer. I've no clue why it was disabled in the first place, but any suggestions on how to get it to work would be much appreciated.
