How can you make a custom planet?

is there a way to make your own custom planet?? like say i wanted to make Yavin IV the actual planet... is it possible? if so where can i find the thread how? i searched the stickied threads and they only talk about rapid transit

This thread discusses how to get to a custom planet. Planets are really just new modules. And new modules are really just old modules put together in a new way.

 

For new module creation look at Doom_Dealer's tutorial and Gameunlimited's guide.

 

And for a good example of a new planet take a look at Redhawke's Ord Mandell mod or Gsccc's mods.
