Adding ships?

Just a quick question - does the Add Ships patch allow you to fly stuff like Assault Shuttles and Assault Transports, and if so can you dock with enemy ships and capture them?

In the original game, this inability to capture enemy ships really annoys me. So many times I've disabled an enemy fighter or similar and thought, 'If only I could capture that!' but it can only be done if it's designated a primary flight group and you've got some transports left on Disable & Capture.

Please say it lets you capture enemy stuff!

(Oh, one thing I did find is, when flying the Otana or similar and you pick up a disabled enemy craft, you can saunter up to a VSD or something (well, not exactly saunter, but you get the idea) and scratch your belly up against their shield generator! Sure, you take a bit of damage, but the craft you're carrying gets destroyed and does quite a bit of damage to the shield gens! Just remember to release the craft afterward - even tho it's been destroyed the game still thinks you're carrying something.)
