WarlordAlpha
but i cant seem to get this to work... now i'm not even sure if its possible... and i'm a new modder i just read the tuts and tried a few things. what i want to do is change Visas model to the player model P_FEM_A_MED_04 with portrait po_pfha04 reason being i dont like Visas current model too much. in my head im thinking those are her sith robes, if shes with us she takes on normal clothes... (nm the fact she is blind... *shrug*) but anyways i picked that model do to her voice actress being Kelly Hu from Scorpion King/Cradle 2 the Grave.... now i tried just using KSE and that didnt work. I tried changing a few thing under Visas heading in the appearance.2da but she still looks normal... or i crash the game when i load it :-P so can someone either point me to a walkthrough i might have missed that explains this better, or explain to me how its done here and what each value is changed? i'm sure it would take only a few mins for one of you guys that have been doin this for awhile to instruct me... "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man how to fish and he eats for a lifetime." or somthing like that ;-p thanks ahead of time... SuperSquall
You'll have to do, among other things, some .2da editing, so I'd zip over to the sub-forum for .2da tutorials and see what you come up with. Inside one of the .2da files(appearance.2da) they have a list of all of the different characters in the game: all the different versions of the PC, NPCs, and every human and alien you see in the game. They have the list of what texture and model files are associated with each character. It may be as simple as just changing the body associated with Visas, or it might get grossly complicated (you'll have to check with a more experienced modder) but I am pretty sure what you are proposing is possible. Either way, start with appearance.2da and see what happens. EDIT: And just so you know we can't do nearly as much with KotOR II as we could with KotOR. At least not yet. The original was a little more modder-friendly and a lot more of its mysteries have been solved. So if things don't work out yet just wait. What we can and can't mod will probably change greatly over the next few months.
WarlordAlpha
i tried messing around int he appearances.2da and it didnt work, so either... 1. i'm no doin it correctly 2. i'm not doin enough or 3. can't be changed... yet as you put it.... i hope one of the more experianced modders glance at this and give them their 2 cents i would surely appreciate it... my only other guess is... i have done it correctly.. but seeing im using an existing game it isnt working with it, and i would have to start a new game... :-( but before i do that i would love some more feedback if possible!! :-) thanks! You will just have to exit KotOR 2 and then restart it (but you shouldn't mod with KotOR running anyway, so this should be a non-issue).
