Head texture overrides crash "Start New Game"

Houston, we have a little problem.

 

For some reason, certain head texture overrides crash my TSL when you attempt to start a new game. One example is Drakonnen's caucasian retexture of the long-haired Hispanic male. After dropping the textures in Override folder I had a crash when trying to start a new game; after removing them, the crash went away.

 

I have determined that this only happens when the custom head is on the shoulders of the mini-characters that appear at the "Select Class" screen. Strangely enough, the game picks the heads randomly (or so it seems). So, if the custom head is NOT on the shoulders of a mini-character, you CAN start the new game, and pick your custom head normally, and proceed with the new game just fine.

 

I know it's not exactly a showstopper (after all, you could pick your char and then drop the override textures into the folder later). But it's an annoying odd issue, and maybe it bears investigating...

Hmm, thats odd. I haven't seen the longhaired texture appear on the mini model yet that I call when starting a new game, but I have seen the short haired version multiple times and have never had a problem with crashes. I'll look into it though.

Nah, doesn't bother me at all :)

 

I think its better if people make the small changes to personalize it themselves anyways, otherwise there are alot of people asking to rerelease it with no stubble, different eye color, with a scar, etc. etc. etc.

 

Everyone has there own opinion and tastes after all!
