ER_Maelstrom
Hi all, Battleweek 6 was the biggest success and blew away Battleweek 5! We had 29 clans signed up, with 212 players equating to 1017 matches played in one week! The top 5 clubs from the event were: 1. TF - Their second win in a row 2. XSL - The Italians are getting stronger 3. -fart- The biggest movers from Battleweek 5. 4. BURN - Another club moving up in the ranks. 5. TAW - TAW is always a powerhouse. Always in the Top 5. In this event, we had 4 players compete in over 100 matches. Two from TF and two from BURN. The story doesn't end here. Battleweek 7 begins May 20th and XSL, -fart-, and BURN are looking for a 1st place. As always, clubs are always welcome to signup for the event. Rebel76
Battleweek 6 ended two weeks ago with 20 participating teams fighting for top honors up to the closing hours of the event. When the moderator team double checked all scores and submitted matches, Team Frag (TF) once more came to the top for the second time. This makes TF the second team after the Art of Warfare (TAW) that wins the tournament two times in a row (TF won BW5,BW6 while TAW BW2,BW3). Battleweek 6 (BW6) broke one more time all participation records by signing up 32 clubs. This time Ecliptical Realms received help from many well-established Battleweek teams like XSL from Italy. The team showed its support by helping BW to register 3 more European teams - SPA and Im-4ce-eS from Spain and BuH from Germany. Those three became an excellent addition to the Elite Jedi Knights (EJK) from U.K and the European divisions of TAW and DS. The official start of BW6 took place on Friday April 15th at midnight (EST). Even though it was relatively late for most gamers five teams were already lined up at the Ecliptical Realms flashchat room and the TAW hosted Teamspeak server. TF, TAW, BURN, GT and FART were the first teams to submit match results on Ecliptical Realms during the opening hours of the tournament. Map selection for the first matches was -as expected- the known and tried triad of Bespin Cloud City, Jabba ’s Palace and Rwen Var Citadel. The “battles” took teams well into the first morning hours - right when their European opponents made their first appearance - just in time to continue the matches. For the first half of the day TAW had the first spot, followed by TF. The latter managed to get first spot after a streak of successful matches it had during the opening day. It's worth mentioning that throughout the tournament TF never lost the first place again even though the difference was as close as 2 points. Unlike BW5 where TF dominated the tournament by keeping a comfortable lead of 10 points for most of the event, this time it faced stiff competition from both FART and XSL. FART made a huge leap on the standings during the weekend by playing some excellent matches that brought the team from fourth to the third spot. To do that it had to fight off XSL up to the closing hours of the event. These two teams swapped 2nd and 3rd spot at least two times with XSL taking second literally the last hour of BW6. Another close battle, was the one for the fourth spot between BURN and TAW. The latter tried to threat XSL for third while BURN was methodically working its way through the standings. Up to Wednesday April 21, TAW guarded fourth closely and lost it only when BURN increased its efforts by achieving better results. By the end of Thursday -last day of BW6- BURN had a safe lead of 5 points. These standings never changed up to the closing of BW6. When BW6 ended and the last matches were submitted, the moderators were surprised not only with the level of participation but also with the number of matches played during the event. For the first time since Battleweek started more than 1000 matches were played within one week! The exact number is 1021 which indicates an increase of 405 matches from BW5 (616 matches). At the same time participation increased to 212 active players from 144 during BW5. These were possibly the best news for Ecliptical Realms and its moderator team as they schedule Battleweek 7 for next month. Ecliptical Realms aspires to continue the success of the previous event and at the same time, provide a competitive tournament for all participating teams. This time Battleweek 7 will introduce a new feature. A new never seen before map that's going to be available only to Battleweek 7 participants. This map is going to be incorporated in the Battleweek points system. This means that the more teams play this map the more points they get. It's worth mentioning that this unique battlefield is going to be available only during the last day of event. This way, teams will fight right to the last minute for these extra points. So far 19 teams have registered for Battleweek 7 while we expect more to register soon. There is still time to sign up so please follow the links on the bottom of this page.
