stoffe
I just finished (the first version anyway) the GUI app that can generate/edit changes.ini files for the TSL Patcher in a more user-friendly way. It's not the most polished or intuitive interface ever created, but hopefully it will make things a little easier at least. (Hint: Some of the grid lists can be double-clicked to edit the row you click on. The buttons without a text caption also have a hint popup describing what they do, that shows if you hover the mouse over them a few seconds.) I added the editor to the download archive, same URL as before. It seems to work as far as my somewhat limited testing has showed, but I'd still recommend doing backups of the files you edit with it first just in case, since I'd be surprised if it was bug free. If you find any bugs or problems with it, please let me know. * * * If no one manages to find any more bugs or problems with the TSLPatcher app soon I'll concider the first version of it safe enough to be released. (Then I could hopefully get back to working on the TSL mod that caused me to start making this in the first place. )
stoffe
I just uploaded another minor update (v0.8.10 of the Patcher and 0.7.2.0 of the INI Editor), which fixes a few problems that I discovered and that were reported with the Changes.ini Generator app, and some slight changes to the patcher itself to make it more error tolerant. If I get no more bug reports or suggestions by tomorrow evening I think I will release the first version of the Patcher and its support applications so anyone who is interested can use it. EDIT(2005-05-24): As usual life seems to make your hopes not come true (in reference to the title of this post). I have fixed a whole bunch of problems with the INI generator and uploaded a new (0.7.4.0) version. Fixes include being unable to add more than one of a modifier type to a file in sequence, errors when forgetting to specify a column label when adding/modifying values, some problems when deleting entries from the lists, and several other minor things.
