Guest Teeeman
I am sorry to say, I have never used a site like this before and don't know all the customs and vocab. Please read on... I have a mission, which I can describe, but don't know how to refer to it properly. It is XWingAlliance, flying the Otana, where you battle a slew of Viraxo fighters at a Viraxo facility, and defend ships stealing weapons (I think). The next step in the mission is to hyper out to a stronghold (a small station or asteroid) and deliver Aeron. No matter what I do, when I arrive, Aeron never travels over on her own, I can't "pick up" the station, and when the Black Sun fighters engage, they waste me from FULL POWER to nothing in seconds! I docked with the station and took the turret, and the Black Sun razor ships stay just below my horizon of fire, but destroy me in grand fashion. I have given up playing the game over this for 3 months, and someone tipped me to try the web for help. If someone knows what I am screwing up in this mission, please tell me how to get through it so I can finish the game. If you can help, send me e-mail at wall9@juno.com Thank you! Guest wookie2k
Is this the mission where u are rescuing the uncle? Or where you are hunting pirates that took over your home? I never experienced lasers hitting me trough something. I usually divert all energy to both shields and lasers and then go up in the turret while docked. This way shields are on max recharge and energy from lasers can be used to reinforce shields. You have to use your superior targeting skills =) to target fighters a long way from the Otana to disperse them. This way only one or two attacks you at the time. The longer range of your turret cannon means that u can hit them before they hit u. I allways thought that it could be cool to be able to use mouse in turret mode, but that is just my oppinon. *************************************** EDIT ************************************* After i read your message once more i realized that this is a mission where u pick up warheads for the rebels from a viraxo facility. You are not flying Otana but the smaller ship the YT-1300... Haven't played XWA in a long time so i dont remember the names. Sabra dammit =) I do not remember that u have to dock with the station. U have to fly and identify the containers and then see trough the docking procedure.. Your cargos fly pretty much close to eachother and have few laser cannons so fight near them as they will shoot at enemies...Fire all your warheads linked and link turret to forward fire... shouldn't be difficult to destroy razors, if having problems just run towards jump point. Guest emupiett
It took me a while to do this, but once I killed the fighters going at the cargo ships, I stayed and destroyed everything else too. But after that, when you go to the asteroids, kill the remaining fighters once you arrive. I think there are about 3 waves of three or less. Once you finish off the fighters, then dock with the station (shift + D). Don't do it the other way around! ------------------ "Intensify forward firepower!!" Guest Teeeman
Thank you all for the help. I am at least ecouraged that the Razors are beatable. My gameplan for now is to learn to beat those crummy butt-wipes by first just skipping the objective of saving the cargo fleet and just going straight to the asteroid. Once I get the hange of how to waste those butt-heads, then I'll try the mission in full (otherwise I spend 30 minutes at a time just to get to the part where I get wasted... and I rarely get to play more than 30 minutes in any given day, and that's only when the kid's in bed, yard is mowed, car ain't broke, computer ain't broke, etc.) Thanks again!
