Guest Scoundrel67
Does the creative beauty that goes by the handle "Ms. Talon" still visit this site? She's been quite a contributor for some time and I hope to see more of her creations and battle sets in the future. By the way editors/Sith, what is the most active XWA site out there right now? I'm afraid I was a latecomer to the game and missed out on the heyday back in late 1998 and 1999. Lucas Arts will probably take another few years to revisit the classic trilogy for game settings, so I'd like to know what you'd suggest to make this one last as long as possible. Will it run with Win2000 and how much does the rebel fighter patch slow down a typical PII 350, 128RAM, & 8MB nVidia card? Thanks. ------------------ They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Guest Capt_Laetras
Well, to answer the techie question, you should have no problem...except it's a little jumpy on my 32 meg Riva TNT II, PII 233, 64 meg RAM.
Tigris
Tell me is ist normal that my system bumps around when in a fight with about 60 ships?? It's high end, so that should be no prob normally... Anyway does anyone know where to find the Eclipse?
Guest Zraii
yupp, here at my site. http://opt.alliancehq.org/main.html And also, why would anyone use Win2k??? When i tried it nothing worked. I had to download alot of patches. XWA did run but with no 3D. Probebly would have worked if i updated the 3d card, but is it worth it?? I think WinME works fine for playing games. Win2k is only for networks. /Zraii ------------------ "Control unruly portions of the Galaxy through a fear of force, rahter than actual force itself." ---------------------- http://opt.alliacehq.org
Guest Fondas
That's only normal. Win Me has the W98 core , while Win2K has the NT core. NT's were never designed to implement games. The reason is simple: NT's main feature should be stability, thus every call from software to hardware must go through the OS. No direct calls to hardware are allowed. ------------------ "No matter how pretty the bait, a hook is still a hook !" TZG+
