that's because in spanish de sound "H" is pronouced with "J"

example: "Jota" would be pronouced a bit like "Hota"

Y in spanish would be pronouced:

E Grek yia

for the "e" in "Grek" you must pronouce it like the "è" in french.

You know your language is hard for Taarkin to learn when freakin' LETTERS have multiple syllables* rolleyes.gif

My favorite Spanish word is hablando. Talk about funky conjugations...

*W dosen't count as a multi-syllabled letter because it's actualy two words

Umm, Spanish has just about as many verbs as any other language on Earth...

Conjugation is a lot harder...hell, in English you just slap an -ing for present tense and -ed for past tense and that's it. But English has more irregular verbs.

It's MIERCOLES

and when you want to say "why", it's PORQUE (one word)

when you want to say "because", it's POR QUE (two words)

And IZQUIERDA is correct.

for "Y" if you can't pronouce the "è" in french then read it like this:

(read only the bold parts):

e gr yeah k_yia

I also thought it was the other way aound but my spanish teacher told me it wasn't...

but I just checked in the dictionary and

porqué = why (but no por que, but i think it's why)

porque = because

she might be wrong, and I was right! I'll check...
