Console fanatics claim to not need $XXX upgrade ever six months, but they'll gladly shell out $200 for the new console every 10 months. In the last 11 years, I've owned three computers and never ONCE upgraded any of them. Granted for 8 of those years I had the ****tiest computer ever, the three year old P2 350 my family uses is ALMOST as good as this one that's not even a year old that I'm typing on right now (this one has a faster processor and more ram, the other has a better video card). In those 11 years, there's been approximately $4000 dollars of computer hardware move through the front door of my house. If I had jumped on EVERY console in those 11 years (NES, SNES, SG, PSX, PS2, Sega CD/Saturn/32x, n64, Jaguar, Dreamcast), you're looking at a few thousand dollars spent. Okay you're thinking that the console was in fact cheaper, but look at this: you didn't type that english paper you had to turn in last week on a Gameboy Color. The extra $1000 spend on computers over those years were offset by the fact that I can do my taxes on the thing or type this message. in short, consoles are lame.

Guest Hans The Great Posted February 27, 2001 Posted February 27, 2001 I have a Voodoo 3 card: Installed effortlessly, plays every game I own with no problems, easy to configure. Consoles are here to stay since they are money making machines for game developers but I will never own one. Sega Genesis was enough for me. X-Box? It's a PC. I was sorry to hear about 3Dfx going the way of the T-Rex. I am planning to buy a new card since I have the same model as Cmdr. Cracken. But I have heard alot of GeoForce horror stories so I am still window shopping.

I have heard alot of GeoForce horror stories I have heard lots of horror stories too. Stories of GREAT GRAPHICS and SMOOTH FRAMERATES!
