PRJ Master
I just beat the rebel campaign, and thought I'd make a thread so other people could do the same. Personally, I found it pretty easy. I mean, at one point (when I only had the West areas of the map opened up to me), I had all of what I could conquered and fully spaced out. I invested in a big stack of units (Corvettes, Nebs, X-wings and Y-wings, and I can't remember if I had the assault frigs yet....). basically, I just added a few units each time that I could get a new one, or a new planet. I didn'4t really add a lot of fighters (I find it easier, unless there's a L5 SS present) to just go without, and rely on Corvettes for anti-fighter (last longer than fighters) and Nebs/Frigs/Mon Cals for anti-ship (on the ground it's just the T-2Bs and T-4Bs with an obligatory trooper to make sure that I keep at least one reinforcement point, and capture pads/other points). I have to say, for most of the time I was REALLY dissapointed that there was nothing that my fleet couldn't handle. I steamrolled everything. Not once did I have all of my initial ships destroyed. Most of 'em, yeah, but never all. And besides, I had like 25 of everything in reserve, lol... my favorite space combat bit was the fight to stop the Mon Cal destroying fleet. I FINALLY had an adversary that was worthy of facing my fleet....even though I would win by sheer numbers. 2 Impstars and 2 Vics certainly aren't anything to sneeze at. IMMEDIATELY (and I do mean immediately) after that battle, I sent every ship I had available to Coruscant. For a second, there, I thought that the Imps got free Impstars there (I had maybe....5 Mon Cals and Ackbar)....they just would not stop coming. From there, it was smooth sailing to the Death Star. And that was a really easy fight. I don't think for the DS fight I had to call in reinforcements at all! *rolls eyes* my favorite ground combat bit had to be Carida. Something about stealing a Tie Mauler and steamrolling stormies appeals to me.... don't know why. well, you've listened to me ramble on and on... what are YOUR stories about your first campaign/memorable (non)skirmish battles? What's your favorite space battle that you have ever done since getting the game? How about your favorite land battle? post it here... and by the way, was I the only one that burst out laughing when I saw him at the ending rebel cutscene? Mods, if there's something like this already, I apologize EDIT: btw, I found something out today... Ctrl+dragging=entire stack of units a la 30 troopers go in one fell swoop from one fleet to another.... YAY!!!!
Tom Servo
I also found my first campaign to be easy, they always come in smaller forces since they have no time to build forces, im pretty sure Galactic Conquest is tougher, but with all the modding i havent finished too many. My favourity space battle is when i changed some settings in the difficulties and there was something i changed that i thought would do something completely different but for some reason my fleet of vsd and isd got defeated by massive pirate forces that shouldnt even have been there. Grov
Yep, to easy. I had fun as the Empire, as i conquored every planet. I thought it was crap as the Rebels. You basically get no time to enjoy the campaign, with the mon cal cruisers. I had hardly any planets, when i destroyed the death star and i won? CIAop
I'm currently going through the rebel campaign. One question...i'm only on level 4 or 5 but I haven't seen any cutscenes? Are there none until the end? Judging by the trailers I would have guessed that there are cutscenes between missions but maybe I'm wrong. Any insights?
