How about adding new factions either just to the online game or full campaigns. How about different sci-fi themes and universes? Babylon 5 this could be one faction including all the species/ships from B5 or indeed seperate factions for each race. Star Trek -DS9, TNG, Enterprise, etc. Battlestar Galactica classic and new series. There are loads of models already available for the various ships. The space element ie battles would lend itself to a great game like EAW. The gound battles or story driven campaign would require some development and expertise. If had the expertise to undertake such a modification i would be doing it right now but i'm just putting my thoughts here.
