Guest Jabba The Hunt
If you got your computer from a reputable dealer they should give you a free phone help line number. ------------------ "Getting Drunk is great you should try it sometime" "I did once, I just cant remember if I enjoyed it or not" jabbathehunt@hotmail.com

Yes, because we all know tech support is really helpful. Anyway, it might be that your CD-Rs are crappy. ------------------ "It's funny that pirates were always going around searching for treasure, and they never realized that the real treasure was the fond memories they were creating." JR2000Z
Maybe its not really a CD-R. (This is the most helpfull suggestion that you've gotten so far.)
Nute Gunray
Actually PB is on to something. I've discovered that with my CD-RW that it hates Sony and Maxell discs, but loves Memorex.
JR2000Z
I hate Memorex a lot. They cant make anything that works.
Nute Gunray
In my giant pile of failed CDs, there isn't a single memorex one. apparently they did SOMETHING right.
Nitro
I don't have a pile of failed discs... I literally use them as coasters! Just put some clear tape over the hole in the middle, place shiny side up on table, and presto! Instant nifty-ass coaster! ------------------ Ryan "Nitro" Cole - The man who can fly anything with wings... And some things without... Thorpie41
Thing is, I know my CD Rs work. On a previous install of my system they worked fine. I'm on my 4th or 5th install, hence the need for this one to work! (Please don't make me restart my computer another million times) I reckon it could have something to do with DMA. But I can't seem to find it in system properties - It used to be there. PS. I did not get my PC from a reputable dealer!
Thorpie41
PC Update - It managed to burn a CD R successfully. I turned sync data transfer on. Question: Should this normally be on and it being off caused my problem? ------------------ "Never raise your hands to kids. It leaves your groin exposed."
