what exactly happened to lechuck at the end of mi4 and how will he return in the next game?

i think, although the huge stone lechuck was destroyed (or was it?) lechuck in his voodoo spirit form (the form he entered the statue in) was released. i think he will return in this form but will not be able to touch anything until he takes a new form. the story could then follow his struggle to take this new form and guybrush's struggle to prevent him...
