MI5

I finished MI4 a couple of days ago, but I don't think it was anywhere near as good as Curse. The third game had much more atmosphere, a darker undertone, a thicker plot, logical puzzles and was about TWICE AS LONG. If anyone has any ideas about how LEC could make MI5 better than both of the most recent games, post them here and I'll send them to them.

I think that the Monkey Island series should continue more like the MI2. That was the game that to me, seemed the largest out of 1, 2 and 3 (haven't finished Escape yet). I think MI2 had the best islands and the best look, it was kinda dark and gothic yet still comical. Plus LeChuck was at his best! He looked great, I don't like the new LeChuck as much as the old, he seemed more meancing in the originals and his voice isn't what I would have imagined LeChuck to sound like. I also liked the way in MI2 when you switched to hard mode there were a lots of new puzzles and NEW AREAS to explore, I think the new games need that, it makwes them more enjoyable and longer lasting.

Earl Boen does an ace job as LeChuck smile.gif

I agree that EMI needed more depth, & the loss of the difficulty levels is a bit of a sin... if Monkey Kombat had been on hard, but made easier on an easier difficulty level, im sure more people would have enjoyed it

I agree that Earl Boen's voice is quite good, but Dominic Armato is an excellent Guybrush. I also think that Elaine's british accent was good in CMI.

Anyway, MI2 was miles better than MI1, it had a much more surrealist plot, but the ending was AWFUL. Anyway, I think Curse was the best because it was so atmospheric, the FMV's were much more worthy than EMI, and the artwork and music were brilliant. The only bit that gets anywhere near the Musical standard of CMI in EMI was the beginning of the overhead view of Melee island. Also, the locations were so much more involving and blood island is just so atmospheric and realistic, it lodges in the mind for years.

So, anyway, In MI5 I think that they should bring back the brilliant artwork, music and locations of Curse, the surrealist plot of MI2 and the excellent conversations of EMI.

Also, make a beleivable ending, loads more FMVs, the ability to play as Elaine, more mysterious secrets on Monkey Island, and MAKE IT LONGER!!!

I'm always partial to the opening credits music. The best! And I think EMI would be much better with difficulty levels.
