no sound for voices with xp

Hi everyone,

 

After the introduction movie, there are no voices at all, just subtitles and music. I know this problem have been inquired a lot of times but i tried all solutions: of course i installed the patch, i tried to run with a nocd copying the files on my hdrive, i tried to decrease the acceleration level of sound (all levels), i tried all the compatibilities(95,98,2000), i put the perf in 16bit and i also tried the imagecfg posted in other thread and nothing works. I can't disable hyper-threading cause i don't have access on it with my bios

 

I have a pentium 4 Northwood 2.53GHz XP pack2

256Mo for RAM

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8SIML

For the audio :sis 7012 audio device; driver : stac97na.sys SigmaTel

 

If someone could help me i would be thankfull cause i'm beginning to despair.

I'm going to ask you a stupid question here: did you check if the voices are enabled in the menu? (it has happened before, believe me).

No voices, what about the music and the sound effects? (door, elevator, street, etc.)
