I wonder if you know a place on the net where you can test what soundcard you have?

My friend managed to DELETE hes drivers.

We have istalled new drivers for his soundcard (Yamaha DS XG), but we need drivers to PCI multimedia audio device.

Can you help?

There is no software that can test the hardware to tell what kind of soundcard you have--that's what the drivers are for.

The only way to tell what soundcard you have is to open up your computer and look at the soundcard. If it isn't clearly labeled in regards to what kind of soundcard it is, you'll have to look for its FCC number, and then look it up through the FCC number.

If you're going to open up the computer, make sure that you ground yourself to get rid of any static electricity that's charged up in your body, as the electronics in the computer can be very sensitive.

You can try looking for drivers here.

Any given program, once running, is obsolete.
