Fullfacile
I installed the game in XP, on a 2.6GHZ. It turned out the PC was too fast for the game, and this is what made it crash randomly. Try this : Reboot, and enter the BIOS by pressing delete or whaterver gets you in the bios (depends). In there, DISABLE HYPER THREADING (don't forget to re-enable it when you want your PC to be fast again!!!). See if it works. - If it keeps crashing, try getting in your Display settings (in the control panel), and set the Bit Depth to 16 bits. Try again... It worked for me, and I hope you get a chance to play this great game! Cheers!
Dunam
Instead of slowing down your whole fast hyperthreading computer, there's a quick and easy hack where you can disable hyperthreading on a per program basis. You set it up once and you can play grim fandango forever! (well until vista anyways) http://www.quandaryland.com/Help/Steves_XP_Games_Corner.htm you may have to search this page a bit. Pressing control+F and then typing 'hyperthreading' helps you find it.
