R1B5
Firstly, each head in Kotor has a seperate name. Which is which? For example, what is the designation for the brunette ponytailed female, or the shorthaired blonde? Secondly, I can't get onto pcgamemods at the moment, so I downloaded Kotor Tool in order to swap Juhani's head with that of a female pc. How the hell do I do this? When helping with either of the above, please assume that I know nothing about modding the game and have a brain the size of a peanut (pleaes make the help simple). PS. Can someone please get Lucasarts to hurry up with Kotor 3. Thanks.
MacTavish
Well there is a good tutorial here... Yeah and about kotor 3, we all are wondering when it's gonna come out but it should be soon!
stoffe
Firstly, each head in Kotor has a seperate name. Which is which? For example, what is the designation for the brunette ponytailed female, or the shorthaired blonde? I don't remember which exact model corresponds to what appearance, but the names of the head model files tell what racial type and gender they belong to at least. For example the model name PFHA01 means Player, Female, Head, Asian number 01. If there isn't a list somewhere it shouldn't be that hard to figure out by trial and error after that, since there aren't very many variants for each racial type. Secondly, I can't get onto pcgamemods at the moment, so I downloaded Kotor Tool in order to swap Juhani's head with that of a female pc. How the hell do I do this? The easiest way I can think of if you just want to change which head is used would be to swap the head reference for Juhani's appearance type in the appearance.2dafile. Find this file either in your override folder (if you are using a mod that has modified it), or extract it from 2da.bif with KotorTool into your override folder. Then open it with KotorTool's 2DA editor. Line number 8 holds Juhani's appearance type, look for the column normalhead on this line. The number in this field is a line number from the head.2da file. So open this file, locate the line for the head model you want to use here (the head column contains the model names), take note of the line number and set it in the appearance.2da file. You probably want to change the Underwear model as well to match the new head rather than the normal furry Juhani body. You do this by changing the values in the modela and texa columns for line 8 (juhani's appearance) in appearance.2da, like: Racial type of head modela texa ------------------- ------- ------ Asian PFBAM PFBAMA Caucasian/white PFBAM PFBAM Black PFBAM PFBAMB

R1B5
Thanks for the info Stoffe: I tried it, but it didn't work. Do I have to start a new game in order to see any changes?
SykoRevan
You could use KSE to change the appearance of Juhani into whatever you want, but this obviously would only work once she joins your party. Plus I've never tried it with KotOR 1 myself so I'm not sure what all it would do, but it could work. I know I used KSE to change Kreia in TSL to her original two-handed model after escaping Peragus, so it's possible to change the appearance of party NPC's. R1B5
Thanks for all the info guys. Thankfully, Chainz.2da did help me by posting a link to my post "Juhani as human request". But I still haven't got a clue how Kotor Tool works.
omfg-noob
Bot number R1B5, you are malfunctioning. Please cease all contact with the humans and return to the droid facility for maintenance. Firstly, each head in Kotor has a seperate name. Which is which? For example, what is the designation for the brunette ponytailed female, or the shorthaired blonde? ~snip~ Secondly, I can't get onto pcgamemods at the moment, so I downloaded Kotor Tool in order to swap Juhani's head with that of a female pc. How the hell do I do this? ~snip~ As you probably noticed already, there are three races (asian, black, caucasion) and each race has five head choices. These head choices will be placed on one of three body types (small, medium, large) depending on the class you choose to start the game. At the head selection screen you get left and right arrows to cycle through the heads, one race at a time. The order of the heads as you cycle by hitting the right arrow is also the order that they are listed in appearance.2da. For example, if you wanted to use the first asian woman's head to replace juhani's head, you would: 1. open appearance.2da with Kotor Tool's 2da editor 2. scroll down to the female PC entries 3. find the first three asian female entries (one for each body type) and look at what is in her "normalhead" column. look here ---> 4. find juhani's line in appearance.2da (party_npc_juhani) and change the number in her normal head column to the number of the female PC's head you want her to have. For example, from "5" to "26" would give her the first asian head, "31" would give her the first black female head, "36" would be the first caucasion female head, etc. 5. click on a different row, save your changes, and put the appearance.2da (back) in your override. 6. load a saved game and see if it worked
