PigDog
Lately my EAW FOC game has given me a few problems with Online and LAN games. I have seen a similar thread posted about LAN not working but none of the suggestions given in those have worked. For some reason (many people have this same problem) the other player does not show up in the lobby with you. The other problem I have is that X-fire does not detect that Empire at War is even on my computer. I figured this may have something to do with the LAN not working. Guest DarthMaulUK
Xfire should detect EaW. The only way it wont, is if you're using Daemon tools for example. With LAN, you need to make sure that all the correct ports are open in the firewall AND maybe any other firewalls, including any on your motherboard. PigDog
I have found out that x-fire does detect that the game is installed but it does not show up as a game under the servers tab when you start x-fire up. As for the firewall, I opened up the ports on windows firewall, but I am not certain if there are any other firewall's on my pc. It wasn't until recently that the LAN stopped working, it happened after I installed a mod. I removed the mod and it still didnt work, however internet play works perfect. lukeiamyourdad
Do you have a router? There could be an integrated firewall in there. Maybe you need to re-install the whole thing and try it out then. Sometimes, mods modify more then wanted, so simply removing them is not enough.
