Guest grannen
Guybrush got his name because that in DPaint you saved pictures in files with the last name "brush". Like "filename.brush" At the time they started Monkey Island they didn't have a name for the hero so they just named him "guy" so the file ended up with the name "guy.brush" After a while Ron Gilbert decided that it should be his name. "Threepwood" was decided by a company contest. ------------------ and Grannen

raVen_image
Yes...I read that too. Funny thing is...it sounds true because so many people will confirmed it. but when we all got our information from the same source...the amount of affirmations means nothing. It's still only one source that has been re-quoted. NEVER trust just one source of information...in other words, don't take our word for it. Remeber: there WAS no brutal winter at Valley-Forge. Teddy Roosevelt did NOT charge up San Juan Hill. and Ely Witney did NOT invent the cotton gin. Think about it. StarEye
Everyone probably know that. The original Guybrush was actually painted in DPaint (DeluxePaint), I think the game was first produced for the Amiga, which explains the DPaint part (isn't DeluxePaint Amiga-only?). His name was then guy.brush Also, the name Threepwood was taken from an book one of the leading producers read I think. I've read all this information a lot'o'places, so I guess it's true. I really AM a monkey-fan, aren't I?

Capt. Buttonhead
I thought Ron "The Man" Gilbert read Guybrush's surname in a book. The original character had been called Galahad Threepwood...
