backtoTHErep.
Usually, when trying to edit (with modest success) dlg files, they have a unique name and the files can be saved to the override folder. However, in some cases, there are multiple files with the same name because those files are partitioned in separate ERF files(?) initially, but when they are broken up into smaller files by KotorTool and then edited with the DLGEditor, the files having the same name could cause flaws. This might have already happened with Azkul (mercenary on Dantooine in Kotor2), and there are three Visquis (Quarren Exchange lackey) files, but that could have been caught before major flaws. Is there some way to edit all these same-named files and save them all to the override folder without causing the game to go crazy? And using the DLGEditor, how can orphaned nodes be de-orphaned (re-parented?)?
Tupac Amaru
Is there some way to edit all these same-named files and save them all to the override folder without causing the game to go crazy? If there is a name conflict, it's better to put the modified dlgs back into the ERF archives. This is pretty easy to do with ERFEdit. Make a backup of the original files. And using the DLGEditor, how can orphaned nodes be de-orphaned (re-parented?)?Cut the orpan and then paste it as a new node (via Edit-menu or with CTRL-Insert) after its new parent.
