Very odd. Need help installing

Hey all.

Let me first say that i've played this game on this computer before and it ran just fine and installed just fine.

Now, a year or so later I try to install it and there's problems with it. Apparently, it never was fully uninstalled and in the add/remove box it offers me the options to change or remove but it never actually removes. It just loads a bit and then does nothing. Also, there's actually nothing showing it's size. It's blank.

Like where one of my games might show 128.36 MB this is absolutely blank and i'm pretty sure i tried deleting it ages ago.

When I try to start up installing it gives:

"Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire At War\LaunchEAW.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start Button, and then click search"

I tried restarting my computer and same old same old.

No idea what's going on here but i'm really in the mood to play this great game again and if anyone of you can give me advice or specific directions (as i'm pretty computer-dumb) it would be very very appreciated.

Ok lets take a look here. Have you installed a new operating system? Such as Vista? Vista will create a new Programs(x86) folder and might have moved the files you need to play.

Its clear that either the files have been moved or modified. You will need to re-install the game again. However, your PC thinks that the game is still there, which it isnt - and it will need removing from the system registry.

Visit http://www.downloads.com and get a free reg cleaner - reg edit is pretty easy to use and good. Install that and follow the steps to remove unwanted files. You are looking for LucasArts/Empire at war files really and delete these enteries.

Once you have done that, the game should re-install normally. Make sure you have enough hard disk space as well.

** Always set a system restore point before attempting any changes to your pc. If you don't know what you are doing, as some one who does know. **
