Graphics Issues

my PC:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+, ~2.6

NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTS @ 512 RAM

2 GB DDR2

 

well KOTOR works perfectly with all details on maximum (+ FSAA 8x AF 16x), except with Frame Buffer and Soft Shadows.

I have a good PC, it should work with Frame Buffer and Soft Shadows but if I activate one of them my game will run very slow, something like 4 fps, and a black screen flaring/blinking 3 times a second... what's wrong?

I tried a lot of things, like lowering all the graphics except frame buffer and soft shadows, making KOTOR run only on one processor, latest patch, new game, disable vertex buffer objects, latest drivers, clean override folder etc. but nothing works so far...

can someone help me?
