Help setting up portraits & heads

I recently downloaded the Achilles mod with Mendah (the Yoda recruit replacing t3m4 in KOTOR 1)....but there is no portrait of the face on the bottom of the screen or when selecting my team, its just nothing there (you can see through the place where the picture is supposed to be during play)..

I know I'm supposed to set up portraits.2da to get it working because it didn't come with it....

In my portraits.2da I have the portrait number and the appearance number matching what is on the utc file, I also have 0 for sex, 6 for race...and in the second column where all the other portraits have po_* I put in po_mendah

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong....this is my first time having to set up all this stuff myself...I downloaded this mendah thinking it had all the files needed to run properly...which seems to me like it should be fairly obvious that Achilles should have included this among other things in the mod...but whatever.

I was also wondering what the heads.2da does and if that has anything to do with the headshot at the bottom of the screen & at team selection.

 

Oh one more thing....Mendah can't wield the "mendah's short lightsaber"

It seems he doesn't have the ability to wield a lightsaber...and it is not one of the feats or force powers available to select...where would I go to enable this?
