How can a RC2 tie in to the original?

A sequel that has no links to the original is terrible, this thread is about how ideas can tie into the original. The idea is a secondary importance.

 

I don't want to see RC without Sev.

 

The gunship carrying the remanders of Delta-Squuad is hit by a missile. The pilot dies and the thick foliage cuts out communication with the army. Lacking orders to the contrary, Delta-squad goes in search of Sev, without contact with their superiors Delta-squad will have to be more ingenious than ever.

 

Anybody have any other ideas?

Here's mine:

Delta Squad grudgingly follow orders and arrive at the front lines, the battle Kashyyyk already in progress. As the Commandos attle deeper into the front lines, the remainder of the Squad get sperated at captured as POW's where they link up with Sev, bust out of the Slammer, and kick some serious @$$.
