getting into Monkey Town

I went back a month on the postings and no one else seems to have had this problem...

I can't get from the clearing into Monkey Town. I've conked the hermit, and know I will find the accordion, but I just enter a clearing and the only way I can go is out.

Help!?

is there by chance a monkey in the clearing?

yes-- I've tried talking to him, feeding him, playing the cymbals... What am I supposed to do?

when you walk into the clearing, try backing straight out, you should then be in monkey town. If this doesn't work, try waiting until the monkey is off the path
