i found this tidbit in a post at http://swgb.heavengames.com/

fourms all you have to do is record an online game then play it while in the recording save your game and then load it normaly you will be playing as the person you where currently watching i did this and made a huge town that took up half them map but for got to take pics another time i just made the map a nerf farm (scruffy looking nerf herders) any way good luck

I've done that too, but the only problem is that the other guys don't move or build or anything, so you have nothing to destroy.

But you can watch the replay until both teams are where you want them to be, then save it. you can also switch sides, which is cool.

Cept it was right at the start . The comp only collected carbon with 2 villes and didnt do anything else.
