thraex
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, and posting because of a problem I have with Vista and Jedi Academy. Basically, I've had the game for over three years, and it ran fine on my old computer, which used XP. Now I've bought a new laptop, which comes with Vista. The problem is that when the game starts, all I get is a black screen. I can hear the audio just fine, and apparently moving my mouse affects the main menu, but I can't see anything. I have up to date drivers, I've tried deleting jampconfig.cfg, and I've also tried running the game as administrator with XP Sevice Pack 2, but nothing I do changes anything. I would greatly appreciate any help in solving this problem. P.S. Here's the general system info, my card is the Intel 945gm, which I know from experience is very weak and might be the problem. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 10/10/2008, 23:06:41 Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080425-1930) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gateway System Model: ML6703 BIOS: Rev 1.0 Processor: Genuine Intel® CPU T2060 @ 1.60GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.6GHz Memory: 1014MB RAM Page File: 938MB used, 1352MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode EDIT: Hey, I've been working on it a couple days now with very little success. Setting a combination of the administrator compatibility settings makes the cursor appears, but nothing else. Setting cpu affinity to just one didn't help at all. The one thing that did work was the program GLDirect (as a trial), which apparently forces the game to use DirectX instead of OpenGL, and the game worked albeit with minimum graphical settings. The only problems with that are that GLDirect costs money to buy, which I don't want to pay, and that the game only worked once, and from then on every time I tried to use the game with the GLDirect installed I would get a white (rather than black) screen with sounds but no visuals. I'm so far hopeless, anyone care to help?
