dimesology Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I purchased a copy of SWKOTOR 2 today expecting that it will work for Vista. How Naive of me. I realized that Vista is not compatible after I was looking around to see the review for the game. So I followed the instruction on other post to use the new dll file as well as to make it XP SP2 compatible. Everything was perfectly set. I guarantee it. Even though, I'm not incredibly knowledgeble when it comes to computer, but I'm sure I did everything correctly. I think my problem is bit different than others. When I double click on the shortcut icon, this is the message I get. "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\swkotor2.exe abnormal program termination" Is there anything I can do to make this work? I don't want to think that I have wasted 20 dollars on a game that I really wanted to play that I can't play. My comp spec is: Windows Vista Home Premium Intel Core2Quad CPU Q6600 2.4 GHz 32-bit 4GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT any help will be very very appriciated!
Star Admiral Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Try reinstalling the game. Be sure when installing that you run the installer as an administrator. TSL should normally at least start on Vista. - Star Admiral
