diving contest

I am at the diving contest and get 10 points cause i've copied Marco's moves, I get another 10 points from the judge on the left side, but I don't know how to get 10 points from the middle judge. He says my head is to flat. I think I need the hat which is in the school for pirates. But Guybrush won't pick it up. He says "I'm not an idiot". How can I pick up the hat or do I have to do something else to get 10 points from the middle judge?
