frozen at awaiting snapshot (trying to connect to JA multiplayer.)

Hi, I've been trying to connect to JA multiplay using the JA+ modification and it sticks at awaiting snapshot. It's not frozen, because I can still open up the console and disconnect or reconnect. when I open the console, it says "Next snapshot way out of range" then some numbers like 16<2868 I have no idea what to do. I can use most stock maps and some custom maps, but larger maps like Midgar or Jedi Council GCX get me stuck. I've tried reconnecting and it does nothing, just restarts and I have the same problem. please help as I am trying to start a server!
