Ben.K
Hi everyone, In Jedi Outcast I can run the game at the framerate limit (85-90) on high settings at 800x600 resolution but in multiplayer I only get 2 frames even at lowest settings. Now, I know that MP is more resource intensive in any game but this computer (laptop, actually - lol) has no problem in MP with Unreal Tournament 2004, a newer, more resource intensive game than Jedi Outcast. FWIW many users of Quake Live report a similar near-zero FPS problem on machines that should run the game fine (which is any piece of junk these days), so it might be some bug/compatibility thing with the Quake engine. But I can play QL okay. Lucasarts was unhelpful, basically telling me that they can't help me because I'm not running one of the cards the game was tested on when it came out. the card i am using is an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with Omega drivers and at 256MB memory according to the DxDiag. I want to get into modding, mostly as a coder, which I can't do if multiplayer is unavailable to me. If all else fails - does anyone know if Jedi Outcast runs on the latest hardware and in Windows 7? Although it will be a looooong time before I have any money to upgrade to a real desktop. Broke college guy and all that.
