[Multiplayer] Galactic Conquest - Heroes by tech level?

Hello.

 

A friend and I have started playing EaW multiplayer, and so far we're just playing the standard game, not FoC. We're having fun, but feel that having the all of the heroes right off the bat makes the game a lot less enjoyable. We want to use the cool heroes (a lot of the star wars experience is about Vader, Luke, Han and the others after all) but would like them to appear according to tech level, as in the galactic campaign single player mode.

 

Any tips? Does anyone have modded files or suggestions for this, for both EaW the base game and FoC?
