Graphics help, and other problems.

I am having graphics problems with Grim fandango. I want to run it in hardware mode, so I can have antialiasing and less jagged 3d, but whenever I do that, the 3d is either invisible, messed up by shadows, or spread across the screen. Is there any way I can have smooth graphics? My computer is XP sp3, and my graphics card is a Nvidia 9800 GT. On a side note, the sound turns off after I open the "F1" menu, and it stays off.

The strangest thing is, I had the game installed before and got it to work, but i had to reinstall it, and now it doesn't work. I've tried all the tricks, too with Rivatuner, and disabling Directdraw.
