Can't move. (Outside of Pirate School)

I'm up to the part just after I've taken all the goods from the treasure chest at the pirate school. I've walked outside and then I saved the game. Later on when I loaded I am unable to move. Can someone please help? It'd be much appreciated.

The exact same thing happened to me and again in act 2. Guybrush could see items in the cannon which I had already picked up and when I tried to pick it up Guybrush wouldn't move although everything still was working.
