static and no sound card

I have sound directly on my mother board. I tried the switch to 16 bit with no luck..the background music is WAY too loud and the people are muttering and not understandable due to static. We have played other games and not have problems. direct X has been tested and is fine.

I did a full install...however, i noticed something...it still pulls from the cd (it was something like 1 gig memory)

try loading the game and then taking the cd out, it will get rid of the music, but maybe it will make the sound better/??? other than that idk what to tell ya.

odd thing...i put it into my wimpy computer and it works fine. something about the high speeds being inside the computer and not on separate cards messes the game up. hubby who is a software developer says it's an unusual buggy game from such a normally good company

I am experiencing similar problems, although i have a sound blaster live external sound card. The speech in the game is nearly not understandable, although the cut scenes sound fine. Whar did you do to solve the problem?
