Decimal Dave Posted May 23, 2001 Share Posted May 23, 2001 On the Macintosh version of Escape from Monkey Island 1.1.1, installing QuickTime 5.0.1 causes the character voices to sound "tinny". All of the other sound effects are ok; just the voices sound bad. I tried this on two of my Mac OS systems and the bug is consistent; QT 4 causes no problems, but installing the full QT 5 breaks EMI. I tested this on my Windows box and there are no conflicts there with QuickTime 5. I'm guessing this has something to do with how the audio was compressed for the Mac OS version. Maybe some audio codec was recently changed (or buggy)? Can anyone reproduce this on their system, or (more importantly) is there a fix/workaround?
