Willdabeest Posted June 29, 2001 Share Posted June 29, 2001 I am new to this board, but I have noticed that a lot of people are having this problem, both on the Tech Help and on the Hints forums. Basically, at the swamp gate, you cannot progress - if you try to do anything like talk or use inventory, Guybrush puts down his pole and picks it up again - no action possible. I have posted this solution a couple of places already. This is a BUG - not a game play issue, and I believe it is hardware related, but who knows? There is no simple way to fix this. I had to take a save game from just before the problem on my home PC. Then I installed EMI on my work PC and installed the save game. The problem did not occur there, so I played a couple of minutes of the game and saved. Then I moved the save game back to my home PC, and voila - I'm back in the game. I tried reinstalling EMI and installing the patch first - it didnt help. I still have the post-bug save game - leave a message if you need it.
