Every time I try to play the game the CD player has a problem reading the game cd . My computer is a HP Pavillion, 667mhz intel celeron,256mb mem.,20gb hard drive,48x max.speed cd-rom drive. I have updated the video driver, directx 8,and have lots of hard drive space.I play star trek voyager elite force with no problems as well as the simms house party. This is the only game that gives me fits. Any ideas to cure this? thanks <IMG SRC="http://www.escapemi.com/forums/smilies/cwm36.gif" border=0>

1. Is it difficult to get the Start Menu when you insert the disk?

2. If so, is it the same with both disks?

3. Is the game installed and running but the problem occurs when you are playing?

4. Has the problem suddenly occured now after working properly before?

5. If it is only problem with one of the two disks, have you (very carefully) cleaned the surface or is the surface scratched?

Any more info you can give us?

Hello,

Yes it is both cd's ,it happens during game play.It actually did it twice during installation once on each cd.I had to unistall and start over restarting the machine each time. I switched the options to "force 16 bit color" and "open GL" and it did run longer before it had problems again, about twenty minutes of game play.It usally lasts about ten minutes before this happens. I have carefully cleaned the cd's and the player with a cleaning kit and the game is brand new too, just bought it. Thanks for any help smile.gif.

I'll suggest the same for you as I did for the Lost_WelshMan. smile.gif

Insert CD #1 and open the folder "Install". Double click on the file Monkey.rtf and read the info about the CD-drive in section 7.

Especially the last section about MS-DOS compability mode.
