donna
I have just bought Monkey 1 and 2 on CD and can't hear any dialogue. I can hear the background music ok but am I supposed to hear voices? If so, how can I hear them or am I just being stupid?
brief
The games are very old, and did not have enough space for digitized voices back then. So there never was any voice acting done for the first two games. Only music and some simple sound effects. ------------------ "Look! HoffmaNY
I just put the downloaded version of Monkey 1 on my old Win31/DOS6.22 computer. The program graphics run, the internal speaker sound effects are ok, but the background music doesn't play. When the program starts I get an error message "unable to play sound because the Sound Blaster is in use by another application". There's NOTHING ELSE RUNNING! I imagine this means the Sound Blaster is not recognized by the game. How does the SB need to be configured? Can I change the game PIF or something? This is like baking bread in a wood-burning oven! Kjølen
The game was so old they didn't even have cutscenes like the ones we have now. Either that, or they're just to bad to notice!
