monkey_freak Posted November 25, 2000 Posted November 25, 2000 the game keeps crashing in Act I after Guybrush and Elaine and Timmy the Monkey run off to the governer's mansion. the game doesn't even read the CD. when i press Esc then spacebar, the game exits back to the desktop. if anyone can help me with this problem or if anyone can send me a savegame right after that point in the game (yew_andrew@hotmail.com) , it would be great!! i am a monkey island fan deprived of the privilege to play Escape from Monkey Island. PLEASE HELP!!!! you'll have my eternal gratitude!!

monkey_freak Posted November 25, 2000 Author Posted November 25, 2000 i already downloaded the patch, updated all my drivers and everything the LucasArts website has told me to do but to no avail!! Looks like the only way to get round this problem is for someone to send me a savegame...

shreepwood Posted November 25, 2000 Posted November 25, 2000 have you tried messing around with your cards options? or alternate between direct3d/opengl? force 16 bit? reinstall? might be a problem with direct x 8
monkey_freak Posted November 25, 2000 Author Posted November 25, 2000 yep, been there done all of that. even tried full install, still the same problem. it's also the same with directX 7. i upgraded to directX 8 hoping it would fix the problem, but it didn't.
