I think MI3 edges out MI4 in humor content, but MI4 cetainly beats out MI1 & MI2 in humor content. However, MI4 beats them all in endings, as MI4's ending is definetely the longest & funniest ending of all the other Monkey Islands, as the other endings are all too short IMO. At the end of the other MIs, I always felt a bit short-changed, but that wasn't the case with this MI.

So overall, I can't tell you if I liked MI3 or MI4 better. It's too close to call...

You: What is the Secret of Monkey Island?

Me: The secret is, is that there is no secret.

You: Huh? But what about Big Whoop, the Three-Headed Monkey, and/or The Big Honking Monkey Robot?

Me: Oh *THOSE*. Well you really can't call them secrets now, can you?

You: Huh?

Me: Well everyone knows about them now, don't they?

You: Well I guess...

Me: See, there you go. Since they're not secrets anymore, there is *NO* Secret of Monkey Island. So what has this taught you?

You: Never to spend, $39.99 on a computer game.

Me: Tsk, Tsk, BAD MONKEY!!! *Whack!* Besides, that was more or less a direct steal from an answer to the first Monkey Island game!

Everybody disses Guybrush...

"See you later!"

"Not if I see you first."

I particularly liked the joke in the kitchen.

"Look, b r a s s monkeys."

"That funky monkey."

And the Talking Figurehead...

"You look kind of familiar."

"Perhaps you've seen me in your nightmares."

"I don't think so."

"Yes you have, watch this...

I'm the king of the world! WHOO!"
